I use the McClosky Technique for vocal relxation when teaching voice. This is a hands on method stressing easy singing and designed not to damage voices. On guitar I stress music theory and basic technique to allow the student to develop his or her own style. I started teaching private piano lessons while getting my masters in piano. I have over 25 years of experience and can adapt my teaching style according to the needs of the students. I have worked with students with IEPs in school, retired individuals who just want to enjoy making music, and very young beginners. Sme of my students have continued their musical studies and have been accepted in music colleges. Even if they eventually switch to a different musical instrument, the knowledge and experience gained in piano lessons cannot be measured because all aspects eventually make further learning much easier. I work with students to develop their own unique goals for their lessons. Some students are putting together a full recital or prepping for auditions.
