I explain that it will be awkward to hold the bow in correct position because it is unusual for person to hold the right hand that way. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music and want to continue to play the violin not just as a hobby! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson and knowing the strength behind private lessons as opposed to group lessons only.
