Hello, my name is Juan C. and I have been playing the cello for over a decade! My musical career has led me to perform on vast amounts of stages in addition to working alongside countless students to further their own musical journeys. For the past five years I have had the privilege of studying under Professor David Bjella at the University of Central Florida; my time at UCF has allowed me to find a true passion for teaching. Since the age of 11, I have been composing music of all genres and styles, learning how to perform on as many instruments as I could get my hands on. I have worked as a producer making music for multimedia and have written music for groups to perform. I am a fun and friendly person that always strives to have an open mind, thinking of myself as only a beginner in this passion for music I have. Read More

I have been playing the piano almost all my life. The passion I have for music of all kinds is contagious. My parents were opera singers, I grew up in a Latin American setting, and I performed with a symphony orchestra at the age of 13. I have taught piano to students of all levels and ages. I love to share with my students the marvels that are found in music, from the composers to their individual styles, to enjoying improvisation and multi-piano/hands arrangements. Read More

I teach both the Classical and Suzuki methods. I have students of all ages so it varies which student is learning which method. The best for children is the Suzuki method that is widely used in the USA. Classical methods can be used when I teach young adults and adults. It is pretty flexible though and I sometimes teach younger children the classical method. I like challenges and I often have children and older students that express different tempers. Read More

With every student, no matter the age, I like to get an idea of their goals intended, or help them develop goals along the way. Everyone wants to play music for different reasons, and I like to keep that in mind for each student. However, regardless of the goal, my philosophy is to empower each student to discover their sound and voice on their instrument. Of course, we will still go over the fundamentals and essential "building blocks" of music, but also develop musical personality in the process. Read More

Im a working pianist, educator, music director, and accompanist. My greatest passion however is teaching, and I try to weave that into every part of my musical life and work. I graduated in the spring of 2022 with my bachelors in music from Rollins College in Winter Park Florida, studying under Dr. Gloria Cook. My favorite work to do aside from teaching is music directing musicals. I love to travel the state to play in and lead a pit of musicians and to bring a show to life through the thing I do best. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Suzuki Method and playing by ear. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire on sheet music appropriate for their level of performance. It is important to stress the fundamentals of technique for my beginner students before just playing music. I like to incorporate music theory within their lessons, so not only are they able to hear a piece of music and can start playing but can also read sheet music that is put in front of them. Read More
