I believe progress looks different for everyone, and I am very patient and happy to go over something more than once. There are different publishers that I use. Depending on the age, personality, age and interests of the students. It can vary; either Bastien, John Thompson, Alfred Publishing, Hal Leonard or any other I find appropriate. In a beginners face I explain notation values, names, posture and what affects their learning. Depending on the age of the student I decide if the material is suitable for their capacity of learning. I have been playing the piano almost all my life. The passion I have for music of all kinds is contagious. My parents were opera singers, I grew up in a Latin American setting, and I performed with a symphony orchestra at the age of 13. I have taught piano to students of all levels and ages. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with John Thompson's The Easiest Piano Course, Part1 and I always try to reach Part 4 with the student. After 6 mounts of having lessons with the same kids I am offering them to perform in front of there parents, friends and neighbors. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
