David has taught several hundred students classical, acoustic and electric guitar over the past 25 years. Teaching environments have included school classrooms, music studios, and privates homes each presenting their own unique challenges. Some students have been very young children without any specific musical goals, while other students have been mature adults wanting to learn specific songs or techniques. Years of experience has lled David to conclude that initial musical goals often evolve over time and a minimal degree of commitment is essential to a positive learning experience. Read More

Apart from treating time as the precious resource it is (meaning I will give your time the utmost respect and expect the same from you) . . . my style is friendly, patient, and "open" to an extreme. If you have particular goals, communicate them to me, and I will teach you everything relevant to them. If you don't, I will help you identify your goals. If you want to remain "goal-free" (for example, because you used to have some forceful teacher, punishing you for your "lack of dedication" or the like), I have a blast simply looking into facets of music with a curious student. My philosophy lies in structure - such as teaching in appropriate amounts that are challenging, but not overwhelming. I will always ask students what they're interested in learning and work that into the lesson. But the main focus for beginners is to be comfortable with the fretboard and to have fun. I break lessons down into technique, theory, and whatever the student is particularly wanting to learn. I particularly like to pull from the Berklee Press or Musician's Institute books, as they are well received. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. When working at my studio, the milestones each student accomplishes are recorded in an audio format that the student can keep as a trophy and to listen to his progress. Read More

I first started teaching how to play guitar and giving music lessons when I began to go to college, I used to teach as a part time job while I was studying, when I've graduated I switched from part time to full time, I've worked in several music institutions and I'd also given private classes, nowadays I devote this by doing more private classes in students homes and online, maybe soon I'll have my own studio to teach where I can bring my students into a more comfortable environment with more teaching tools for the learning process. Every student starts or resumes classes at different levels. My job is to recognize that level and proceed accordingly. I like my students to be able to learn and progress at the rate they can or want to. Letting students let you know what they want to learn and at what pace, helps the student as well as the teacher in that progress. I like to tell my students that they will not only be a good player, but know exactly what they are doing. Read More

Whether they want to concentrate on technique or just learning songs that they love and bring joy and/or the joy of playing music. Many students have expressed to me how much just strumming the strings on the guitar is relaxing and their escape from the hassles of life. However again its a committment to the instrument and music. Practice is a virtue but it does not mean it won;t be fun. Read More
