Some weeks a piano student might complete the material rapidly and some weeks, they may want to go slower, taking their time, therefore they excel at their own comfort level and don't feel as though there is a race. I have taught for over twenty years to all ages and levels. I teach the fun way by teaching the student what they would like to know by tailoring each lesson to fit there personal goals, needs and questions. I've taught all genres and also teach special needs including autistic, handicapped, and blind. As well I've also taught a couple grammy winning musicians. I first started giving lessons my junior year in college and have continued to teach ever since. I am also currently the music director for the Yorba Linda United Methodist Church in Yorba Linda California. I do encorage my voice and piano students Only if they express interest. What does happen often is that as a student absorbs the approach, it affects their life to some extent they naturally start slowing down and appreciating details in their lives too; they relax and become more aware of whats around them because their minds have been trained somewhat through practicing music that way.
