I have been teaching since getting my masters in 1999 - from Brooklyn and NYC to New Haven, CT, where I now teach vocal technique to all ages at the Educational Center for The Arts (Performing Arts High School) and at the Neighborhood Music School. I love to teach healthy singing to all ages, styles and levels, and lessons are alot of fun and immensely productive. Piano Students: I work only with beginners and I use Suzuki Method supplemented with songs of the student's choice. Voice Students:While the basis for my vocal technique is rooted in the classical Bel Canto tradition, my students do not end up having a "classical" sound (unless that is what they want). I firmly believe in the value of training versatile singers. We work on text analysis, and performing techniques that are specific to the style the student wishes to sing in. Read More

More important than vocal and piano technique, it is also important to me that my students have and continue to build a healthy strong self esteem. At times songs are chosen to help students feel more positive about themselves, and having healthy enlightening dialogue in the lyrics encouraging them not to give up, and believe in themselves and to dream the biggest dreams. I am currently fourth year senior Music Education major student at Western Connecticut State University who will be earning a B.S. Music Education in May 2019. I am currently a classical voice student in my studies, but serve as the accompanist for the Western Connecticut State University Concert Chorale. I have had numerous opportunities to perform in various operas within the state of CT, which recently include WCSU Opera Ensemble, Yale Opera, and the Torrington Symphony Orchestra. Read More

I volunteered at my arts high school for 2 years helping with all of the Jazz Band, AP Music Theory, and private instruction in multiple instruments. In 2009 I graduated from Cooperative Arts & Humanities Magnet High School focusing in Music. That's why the student and I set goals for the student, whether it's learning a new song, practicing a certain amount of minutes a week, or auditioning for something like a musical or talent show! Setting small goals like these helps the student feel accomplished, and want to continue to work on their new found skills.
