I took off a year to finish a master's degree at UF, but now I'm back to what I love - teaching youth! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Back when I was in Venezuela, I was playing in my city's orchestra the entire time from 2002 to 2018. In that orchestra, which is a part of the renowned "El Sistema". El Sistema is a system that helps underserved communities get the music knowledge they would otherwise not be able to get. We had different levels of orchestras, from beginners to advanced. My methods fall into 4 categories: 1) Essential Technique- Students will learn the basics from the Essential Elements books, Etude books such as Wolfahrt and Dont, and customized materials 2) Music Theory and History- Students will learn note reading, key signatures, scales and arpeggios, intervals, rhythm and music history through customized materials and games 3) Solo- Students will choose solos from the Suzuki violin/viola series, or another skill-appropriate solo 4) Ensemble- Once the student has basic familiarity with his or her instrument, I will find them an appropriate ensemble opportunity such as youth orchestra, All-County/All-State Orchestra, adult community orchestra or chamber music Read More

As a senior in highschool, I was offered to teach beginning violin lessons at the homeschool co-op I was attending. Besides teaching the basics of the violin and beginner level music-playing, I gained experience in practicing efficient time management, lesson planning, and working with varying instruction approaches due to the age ranges of my students.
