I use appropriate level texts based on the student's experience first and age level second but always teach from what will make either younger students or adults feel comfortable. We often forget this with strict practice routines, but enjoying what you do is just as important as anything! I provide each student with an individualized lesson curriculum. Students are given assignments each week and instructed to return the following week with their assignment prepared, such as scales, arpeggios, etudes, and various other fundamental exercises.
