I started my teaching carreer in 1994, teaching doublebass and bass guitar. Two years later I began offering guitar lessons. In 1998 I offered cello lessons. My passion for teaching has grown over the years, and brought me great pleasure helping beginner students gain skills, confidence, and a sense of pride and accomplishment in learning to successfully play a musical instrument. I been able to teac advanced bass students techniques that increased their playing skills and understanding of their instrument and music in general. As students advance I often incorporate etudes and/or exercises by Lee, Dotzauer, Galamian, Mooney, Sevcik, Duport, and Popper. While ear training is an essential skill that I teach to all of my students, the younger a student is the more I'll have them "play by ear" instead of reading sheet music. Read More

I love seeing my students thrive in their music studies! It is such a rewarding moment when a student realizes that they have the capability to create beautiful art. It is very important to me that students develop skills through their music studies that also assist them in their daily lives, like - perseverance, consistency, creativity, and persistence. Acknowledging students successes can help give the student a desire to continue and progress in their studies. Read More

I did not officially start teaching music until after I graduated from Hill College. I have been playing the cello since I was 13 and singing since I was practically born. While attending college I was put in charge of my section in the choir in order to make sure that everyone knew their part. I would set up weekly times for all of us to meet and go over our parts.
