I started my teaching carreer in 1994, teaching doublebass and bass guitar. Two years later I began offering guitar lessons. In 1998 I offered cello lessons. My passion for teaching has grown over the years, and brought me great pleasure helping beginner students gain skills, confidence, and a sense of pride and accomplishment in learning to successfully play a musical instrument. I been able to teac advanced bass students techniques that increased their playing skills and understanding of their instrument and music in general. My greatest pleasure was helping a young, nervous, shy, and self conscious young boy, and over time, with his efforts and my guidance, was able to apply and get accepted into music college. I teach each student different. Depending on the students level, pace , knowledge, strength, abilities , determination and goals. All students will have a understanding of scales, rhythm, chords and progressions . Each one of these will breakdown to their own sub-groups. With them expanding as the student progresses . They offer a lot of practical information, as well as beginning music theory for all string students. For my beginning violin and viola students, I only work with them through Essential Elements book 3. At that time, I would refer them to a teacher who's primary instrument is violin. I like to pull ideas from different schools of thought. I would much rather paint a canvas with many colors than just a few. Some schools you may be familiar with are Suzuki, Czerny, Galamian, Flesch, Hanon, Mayron Cole, and many others. I tailor my lessons to fit the current needs of every student. I have been surrounded by music my entire life. My mother was a concert pianist and opera singer for many years, so I grew up attending rehearsals and experiencing music at its finest. I began my piano studies at age 2 and began playing the cello at age 14.
