For beginners  I like to start with the Suzuki Method. But I'm also familiar with other couple methods such as Essential Elements and Essential Techniques for strings book 1-3. In addition to follow a method book, I like to supplement some small pieces from other books as well as incorporate some of the pieces that the student want to learn. Once the student is in the intermediate to advanced level of playing, I like to use the String Basics Book, Carl Flesh Scale Book, Kayser's ,Schradieck, Dont,  Kreutzer's 42 Studies, among others a long with some solo repertoire. For bass guitar I use the Mel Bay Bass Guitar Method which takes a student from creating rocking bass lines to building kicking bass licks from chord changes.Double Bass students will have classical training, techniques to build a solid, warm tone, use of the bow, and orchestral repertoire, including solo pieces. I started playing violin at the age of 4, and started teaching at 17. In 2003, I started playing viola, and in 2005, I started learning cello. In 2010, I graduated from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Music degree with electives in Psychology. I have played as the Associate Principle Second Violin in the Orange County Symphony since 2011. I love teaching because I love to help people, and I love to share my joy of stringed instruments. My teaching career started while studying abroad in Guadalajara Mexico, I taught Solfege and helped the chorus out in Hermilo Hernandez institute of music, then went on to teach private lessons to beginner cello students there as well. when I came back to El Paso Tx, I joined the ASTA Group and we helped lower-income students by providing after school classes for no charge. Post Baccalaureate Educator looking to provide guidance to musicians on their great musical journey. My degree is in Violin and Piano Performance. I studied with professors that graduated from Eastman, Manhattan, Michigan, Boston, and Curtis among many others. Ive always been interested in discovering the many ways one could teach an instrument. After learning piano from the age of 5 I started violin around 10 years old.
