I started teaching private cello and piano lessons shortly thereafter and continued to do so through college. After graduation, teaching music truly became my passion. I've worked extensively with private students of all ages. I taught private lessons, group classes, and sectionals to students through several different school orchestra programs. I went on to start my masters degree work at the University of Texas in Austin. My teaching career started while studying abroad in Guadalajara Mexico, I taught Solfege and helped the chorus out in Hermilo Hernandez institute of music, then went on to teach private lessons to beginner cello students there as well. when I came back to El Paso Tx, I joined the ASTA Group and we helped lower-income students by providing after school classes for no charge. I also make it a point to observe how they learn and what is successful for them along with what doesn't work so well. I use educational tools such as videos and games to also teach, especially for the younger ones. This makes them enjoy the lesson more I've found.
