I have been playing the cello since just before 6th grade and have played consistently until college where I continue to play solos and in an ensemble. I am currently attending Austin Community College for a degree in Music Composition. On top of cello, I have arranged and composed multiple pieces that I had the opportunity to play with the school orchestra for both projects and just for fun, including arrangements for 4 cellos, and small ensembles. I started my teaching carreer in 1994, teaching doublebass and bass guitar. Two years later I began offering guitar lessons. In 1998 I offered cello lessons. My passion for teaching has grown over the years, and brought me great pleasure helping beginner students gain skills, confidence, and a sense of pride and accomplishment in learning to successfully play a musical instrument. I been able to teac advanced bass students techniques that increased their playing skills and understanding of their instrument and music in general. My greatest pleasure was helping a young, nervous, shy, and self conscious young boy, and over time, with his efforts and my guidance, was able to apply and get accepted into music college. I have been surrounded by music my entire life. My mother was a concert pianist and opera singer for many years, so I grew up attending rehearsals and experiencing music at its finest. I began my piano studies at age 2 and began playing the cello at age 14. I graduated from the University of Houston's Moores School of Music with a Bachelors of Music degree, with a concentration in cello performance. Read More
