While I am new to teaching, I am hoping to create a comfortable environment where students do not feel rushed to complete pieces or practices, and we will always move at the students pace. If a student is not yet ready to move on to the next piece, then we will continue polishing whatever they need before moving on. I will always keep a log of what the student is currently working on, and what they should work on between lessons so we can always make sure things get done, and can move on to new things. As a cellist and pianist, I have enjoyed an international performance career as a chamber music player, soloist, and string orchestra musician. As a performer, I love chamber music and soloist playing, both music paths that I have been cultivating and expanding. I began teaching beginner piano at the age of 13 and have been consistently teaching for the past 10 years. My students have ranged from ages 3-80. Throughout my teaching and personal performing, I have realized how important consistent positive practice is. The cello is the middle child between the bass and the violin and a lot like the middle child stereotypes I also think the cello doesn't get enough respect. I am a passionate instructor who enjoys working with students of all ages. I started performing, professionally, at a very young age, during my 6 years at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. From there, I attended the Louisiana State University, as a cello performance major and performed with the school symphony, as well as the Alexandria Symphony, the Lake Charles Symphony and local venues. I went on to get my Master's degree at Georgia State University and then returned to Louisiana State University for my final degree in Cello Performance. Read More
