I began teaching beginner piano at the age of 13 and have been consistently teaching for the past 10 years. My students have ranged from ages 3-80. Throughout my teaching and personal performing, I have realized how important consistent positive practice is. When working with students, I always emphasize quality over quantity when it comes to practice time specifically. Students must enjoy what they do. I am a passionate instructor who enjoys working with students of all ages. I started performing, professionally, at a very young age, during my 6 years at the Alabama School of Fine Arts. From there, I attended the Louisiana State University, as a cello performance major and performed with the school symphony, as well as the Alexandria Symphony, the Lake Charles Symphony and local venues. I went on to get my Master's degree at Georgia State University and then returned to Louisiana State University for my final degree in Cello Performance. Read More

I was brought up classically trained on the Suzuki books but I am completely flexible. If you have or have heard of a set of books you like we can use that too. If you don't know how to read music we can focus part of the lesson on music theory and the rest on learning from recordings and playing by ear. Austin State University with a degree in Music Education with a concentration in string instruments.
