Instruments: Cello, Bass Guitar

Generally, we start with a quick assessment of where you are in the instrument, what pieces you can play and want to and/or need to get to play someday, I use a regimen of Cello " workouts" that will focus on improving overall and focus on areas we need to work the most on, each student is different and responds differently to different methods, though there are several etude books I use ( like Feullard's 60 daily exercises or poppers Highschool of cello, as well as some of Dotsauers 113 Studies ) which would also depend on our starting point. I was born in Marshall, Texas. I received my Bachelor of Music and my Master of Fine Arts in Music Education from Stephen F. Austin State University. My primary instrument is violin/viola under the training of Dr. Isidor Saslav, but spend my weekends on bass for community events and local performances. Read More

Instruments: Piano, Cello, Music

For all my cello students, I start with 170 Foundation Studies and a modified Suzuki Method (Cello). The Bach Suites, however, are what most of my cello students are interested in learning. For piano students, I use the Bastien piano series by Neil Kjos. I want my students to be interested and engaged, and coach them through basics while also trying to find pieces or genres they want to play. Read More

My music education experience includes serving as an elementary-middle school orchestra teacher, and being judge at the school district's concerto competition. Read More

We begin with starting with proper hold of the instruments, left hand placement, and simple pizzicato; the same would be done with guitar. After a methodical start we would launch into various selections of repertoire which all foster growth and steady challenge. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
