My goal is to teach you how to be your own teacher. I want to make practicing still feel a lesson because you have listened, learned, and retained what you need to make you a better player. To do this I adopt a more holistic approach. For the beginning string player I like to start with a Hal Leonard method book to communicate and help string players master the basics. Once the student has progressed I will begin some solo repertoire from varying genres. I find it is always helpful to allow students to play music that they enjoy - experiencing a range of both popular and classical pieces to broaden their horizons. As a cellist and pianist, I have enjoyed an international performance career as a chamber music player, soloist, and string orchestra musician. As a performer, I love chamber music and soloist playing, both music paths that I have been cultivating and expanding. I started taking cello lessons over the summer before 6th grade, and played in the ensemble at my middle school and high school, continuing lessons throughout. I have also participated in solo and ensemble events through the schools. I have never taught before, as it is only now something I have to start doing, but I am excited to begin teaching others.
