My musical experience began back when I was 11 years old. I was introduced to music when I was a boy and from that point on my life changed. Through the course of my career I have played many genres of music such as Classical, Jazz, Latin, Pop, Rock, Blues, and Commercial Music. I began piano study at the age of 5 and began teaching privately at a young age.  I have taught piano and been staff accompanist at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, Pa. and Fairmont State University in Fairmont, W.Va.  I am a member of: Music Teachers Association of California, Music Teachers' National Association, National Guild of Piano Teachers, American Guild of Organists, AFM, Local 47.  She is a founding teacher for the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory:  The Achievement Program.  I adjudicate for MTAC, MTNA, NGPT, SYMF and other California festivals and competitions.  I present lecture/recitals on women composers and their music at a variety of conferences throughout the United States and had the privilege of premiering the First Piano Sonata by Nancy Van de Vate at the 2001 Amalfi Music Festival in Italy. I have extensive experience as a kindergarten teacher, church accompanist, piano instructor at church music schools and piano academies. For young students I use Faber and Alfred books. As well as Famous and Fun books which have popular tunes to help keep the students motivated to practice. My older students work in the standard Hanon exercise book which helps develop agility and evenness in the hands and fingers. I also teach my students all 12 Major and minor scales, arpeggios, and chord progressions. My more advanced students usually learn classical music and Jazz/Blues Rags series by Martha Mier. I loved to teach students on playing violin and piano. I enjoy working with my students at my home studio. The experience that I teach is to learn the parts of the music instrument. The students were sometimes understand the music about the notes, parts of the methods and working on the rhythm.
