Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba

I am a very patient teacher and I understand that students learn at different paces. Therefore I set realistic goals that the student can achieve and WANT to achieve. By setting a goal they can and want to achieve through 10-15 minute practices over 3, 4, 5, or even 6 days a week, it pushes the student to put in the minimal work to progress and grow to be the musician they want too be or even didn't know they could be. Some of them have graduated from Berklee, Musician's Institute, and others just see music as a hobby and I respect and encourage them all equally. I've had adult students just picking up an instrument for the first time and seasoned pros that need some new perspective. My teaching has been a massive part of my career, including private lessons, working at School of Rock for 9 years, and masterclasses in my native Venezuela and The Netherlands. Read More

Instruments: Saxophone Flute Clarinet

I began teaching during my undergrad work and now have over 9 years of experience providing private lessons in saxophone, clarinet, flute, music theory, and conducting. I have worked with students from elementary school through college as well as adults, and in addition to my private studio, I am also the resident woodwinds instructor at 3 community music schools in the LA area. My main aim as a teacher is to enrich the lives of my students, whatever their specific goals. Read More

With younger students and those new to their instrument, I start with the basics, laying out simple chords, scales, and arpeggios, showing them how they are used in their favorite songs. Once an understanding of these concepts is reached I move on to how to incorporate them in real-time, and show the student how incorporate these ideas using their own unique voice. For more advanced students, I strike a balance between practical technical knowledge of the instrument and the music theory that drives the decisions their favorite artists make. Read More

I have an interactive yet focused style of teaching. I can(but don't recommend) to use the Suzuki method. I feel that all aspects related to the instruments weigh much importance in teaching the student. However, with the Suzuki method, the student's primary focus is to learn pieces rapidly and climb the level of difficulty as fast as possible. This prevents him/her to fully understand and analyze the piece and lesson and it can also turn the student away from pursuing the instrument further.  Read More

Instruments: Piano Clarinet

I began teaching as early as 2003, while in high school on clarinet. I continued to teach during college as a voice coach, and have been teaching piano, music theory and music composition to this date. I have worked with both children and adults, in classrooms and one on one. One of the things that distinguishes me from other teachers is how I tailor my program for each student, because everyone learns differently and has different strengths and talents. Read More

Instruments: Drums Conga Latin Percussion Djembe

My style caters to each student individually, we all have an idea on what we want out of our instrument. Some people just want to jam and others want a career, Im here for both. Wherever you want to be on that grid, I can get you there. Growing up, i wanted to be a drum tech rather a performer..crazy right? As i progressed in school, i realized "tech" skills served more than i thought. Read More
