I create a hands on curriculum based on the students musical proficiency. Alongside this structured lesson plan, every student will receive training on proper practicing techniques which help build their sense of guidance, responsibility, and structure. Students will also receive training for embouchure and tone development as well as warm up etudes that cater to the students skill level. I tailor a student's curriculum to their musical goals and needs, while making sure that I am instilling the fundamentals needed for pursuing music at the college scholarship level. Often this means scales, chords, arpeggios, music literacy, performance practice and listening skills. To accomplish this, I use standard materials that are often available online and are used by college and University music programs around the world. I have a variety of method books in different styles and from different time periods, and will select, assign, and provide a Method book to a student based on the student's goals. Read More

Alben began studying classical piano at the age of 7 and guitar at the age of 15 at the Rhode Island Philharmonic School in Providence, RI. At the age of 14, he began studying under Dr. Irina Tchantceva, participating in various festivals and competitions around the New England area. In university, he studied under Dr. Sandra Hebert and Dr. Ralf Gawlick for performance and composition, respectively and graduated from Boston College with his B.A in Music with a concentration in Performance and Composition, as well as a degree in Political Science in May, 2019. I love music and have studied piano since I was six years old.  I also studied organ and clarinet briefly.  My degrees are in Psychology and Communications.  I worked for state and federal government agencies and was a writer and producer for CNN/Atlanta for ten years.  I enjoy teaching piano and now have six students ranging in age from 4 to 36 years of age.  I also enjoy tennis and am a former law student, but found the latter not to my liking.
