I taught my first students around 1993 back in my homeland, Greece. Since then, I taught several instruments such as piano, guitar, mandolin, ukelele, Greek bouzouki, ud and Greek Lute. In my teaching, I always combine elements, from any musical style I have taught to strengthen my teaching skills and help students achieve their best. I believe in a good balance between studying theory and practicing technique and music. Theory reveals the secrets of music. Read More

I thrive off of my passion for music, and the same goes for my teaching style. I will take you through every turn of learning your instrument, but the responsibility and the style of learning ultimately relies on how the student will best receive the information. I learned music completely different than the way my best friend and band partner learned how to play - and they were both viable methods. Read More

I love music so much that I want to share with anyone who wants to learn from me what I have learned and experienced with music. While I am firm believer in teaching theory and technique, I also believe that music needs to be an experience that captivates my students, no matter the age. I always ask my students what their goals are and depending on the goal this will determine the approach. Read More
Instruments: Piano Trumpet
My teaching style starts with really trying to understand the student that I am teaching, when I can do that, it makes the whole process of teaching easier. For example, in my experience, something that works for some students, really wont work for others, and if I can identify why something isnt working for a student, I can give them the right tools to fix it. I will usually start with asking the student to play something for me or see what they want to learn, then give them things based on what I hear in their playing, or what they tell me. Read More

Before I could walk, I was pulling myself up to the stereo system and bouncing along to the music. Now, decades later, I still love to share my endless enthusiasm for music with audiences and students. I've performed across the United States as a pianist, trombonist, percussionist, and improviser, appearing at venues like Lincoln Hall in Chicago, the Center for New Music in San Francisco, and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. My methods to teaching beginners piano is very logical in that it the fundamentals I teach build upon each other. You can think of if like a pyramid. On the bottom of the pyramid we start with the notes of the piano. By the end of lesson one it is my goal for the student to know the name of every single note on the 88-key piano/keyboard. It's easier than it sounds and the students will find out that they can retain and learn more in one lesson than what they thought they could. Read More
