During my undergraduate time I was apart of those vocal ensembles and worked closely with professors and students to write, arrange and perform full length vocal compositions. Soon after graduation, I was a full-time musician giving freelance voice lessons, and also teaching jazz voice while an artist in residency at Duke Ellington. During my time at Duke, I continued to perform and record around Washington, DC. This is where I began to be recognized for my talent, and was approached by an independent label who would soon thereafter move me to Atlanta, Ga to pursue my goal of being a full-time artist. From 2020 - present, every summer I have been teaching at the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. This jazz camp is a week-long intensive learning experience. Jazz musicians from all over the U.S. come to teach at the camp and help the students learn about jazz. In this camp I had the responsibility of teaching theory, improvisation, sight reading, and musicality with playing. Other experience I have teaching is every so often I get hired to fill in for a teacher to teach a jazz combo at a youth jazz program in Atlanta. Read More
