Instruction methods are chosen according to the needs, abilities, and desires of the students. Instruction materials differ depending on the age of the student and the ability of the student. An emphasis on my part is exposing the student to material of the highest quality. This will often mean the exposure to some of the simpler classical pieces written by the great composers fairly early in their musical journey. I teach my  students with Alfred's, Bastian and other diffirent  methods. My beginning students lerning two books together. With lesson book kids learning music terms and how to play piano. With Theory book we are drawning notes, do excircise and play games. My intermediate level students can pick a song they would like to lern. Following a long, fun and successful 20+ year career as a pro musician, I became a full-time music teacher. Since I have an Administrators degree and have concentrated on many Healthcare/Science classes regarding disabilities, I can tailor my lessons to students who may be dyslexic or have ADHD. Some students are visual learners, where others respond more to sound. Instruments: Piano Drums Keyboard

My teaching studio is equipped with two drums sets and practice pads to accommodate marching or drum set students.   I also have a full PA and two keyboards set up for piano students and accompanying purposes.  Each student is given an assignment for the week (or specified time) and will then pass off this lesson assignment (barrier) before receiving a new lesson.  Passing off not only includes demonstration of the lesson but also performing with me as I accompany them on the keyboards. I began my teaching experience in the Bronx, where I created a music program in a very large public elementary school. In additon to a full schedule of general music classes, I directed over 200 assembly programs involving students from Kindergarten through 4th grade.  I also developed an after-school Chorus program, putting on Winter and Spring concerts, as well as several Broadway musicals.  In 2001 I transferred to Mount Vernon, where I was able to continue and expand my program, incorporating concert band and all-grade musical performances for students from Pre-K to 6th grade.
