For beginner students, I typically start with Faber Piano Adventures as it is a very hands-on and interactive way of learning the piano. Once those levels are completed and I determine the student is ready, we move on to more appropriate classical solo repertoire, from various composers, exposing them to every era in Western Classical music, beginning with Baroque through the contemporary period. For teaching trumpet fundamentals, there are a handful of helpful books that I use. One of the main books I would suggest students to use is the Arban book. This book contains exercises for just about everything on the trumpet, ranging from excerpts that are challenging for beginners, and excerpts that are challenging for more experienced players too. Another book I would use is Clarke Technical Studies. This book contains a lot of exercises to help build dexterity in the fingers with playing the trumpet. Read More

I began teaching at Derby Yamaha Music School, UK, coaching classes and private lessons for voice and piano. After leaving England, I began teaching at Pladd Dot Music, Statesboro. Here, I taught many students both voice and piano. Two in particular required coaching in their respective pageant and regional championship.
