Teaching is essentially for the student to learn the material, but at the same time the student is teaching me patience and joy. I base my teaching method on my strong enthusiastic, optimistic, patient, and loving character. My teaching experience goes back to after college days, as I began teaching private lessons two years ago, and have been consistently teaching in the classroom and at home for 4 years. I always encourage regular practice on a consistent basis because its the only way to progress and be great. I've found that helping students learn their interested genre makes them stay passionate about piano and motivate them to practice and learn more. The more the student is passionate the more they're encourages to create their own songs, enter competitions, and perform recitals.
For beginning students I use Faber and John Thompson books. Once the student improves of course we upgrade to more challenging songs and books. For adults I find out what they're interested in and instruct accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and always fun no matter what. I base my teaching method on my strong, enthusiastic, optimistic, patient, and loving character. I make sure the student feels comfortable, is not overwhelmed by the material, and I take any amount of time until the material is thoroughly understood.
It's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and make students eager to learn more. Sharing my own stories also give students excitement on what to look forward to if interested in a music career. I make sure I'm very personable so each student can feel comfortable, inspired, and motivated. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students progress at his or her own pace.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
