I believe it's really important for my students to feel encouraged and not overwhelmed. Learning to play an instrument is one of the most fulfilling accomplishments that a person can achieve, no matter the age or skill level. Read More

Essentially, I believe in methods for instrumental instruction. I have my favorites for each instrument I teach. A method is like a staircase with which the students are able to methodically progress in music and it is the fundamental for any particular style of music they would like to enjoy practicing and performing. Of course, additional material can also be added during the lessons according to the current level of the students and specific styles they would like to get acquainted with through their practice Read More

The approach I feel works best for teaching students how to play guitar, is to try to create a positive feedback loop. This can be created by finding music that the student likes and that challenges them, but isn't overly difficult to the point that they have to slog through it for months to get anywhere. I also emphasize the point of getting the guitar into their hands everyday. It helps a lot hack away at it as much as possible. Read More
