Once the fundamentals from those books have been understood, I will start the students on repertoire that is appropriate for their level. I have experience teaching all ages, from 5th grade to 55+, and I find it the most rewarding when my students work hard, improve, and achieve their goals. I urge my students to practice regularly on a consistent schedule; improvement is dependent on this, but I also encourage them to explore. Uniquely, I have helped on movie sets to make actors "look" like musicians. I do train stunt-doubles for the accuracy of the filmed scenes. I have played on albums for studio work and have composed my own music, and support improvisation.
