Teaching music is a very rewarding experience. Its often nice to see a student to be able to open their eyes and understand the music concept. Every child is different. I like to let each student to progress at their own pace. Patience is the key here when learning to play a new music instrument. I am very flexible and layback. Students enjoying playing their instrument and enloying their lessons is more important than being able to master a piece of music. Read More

My teaching experience goes back to my high school days, where we would volunteer to help tutor the local middle school orchestra members on music they were working on for performances. Many of my classmates would also come to me for help with practicing or if they had a music theory question. This continued in college, and before I knew I was working as a violin and piano teacher at a local music store. Read More

The most rewarding feeling is when a student of mine feels a passion for the music they are learning. They are passionate usually because they are succeeding. Therefore I make it a mission of mine to set realistic goals for each student at each lesson. I constantly acknowledge students accomplishments and good habits, which in reaction makes students excited to learn more. By trying to observe what inspires each student, I can efficiently assign repertoire to each student accordingly in order to boost their interest and learning curve. Read More

I teach the basics using a combination of methods, customizing lessons to each student's skill level, ability level, and interest (classical/folk/modern). For beginning students I suggest using the Suzuki Method, or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once each student is ready to move beyond the fundamentals, I find exercises and solos to best fit and improve their skill level for recital performances, competitions, strings class/orchestra, or other activities. For all beginner students I like to start with Essential Elements 2000 for violin. I find it is a great way to introduce reading music notation for students who havent learned yet. Once the student has a good grasp on reading music and playing in upright position, I like to introduce introductory solo repertoire with Suzuki Violin School. I find this is a great way to introduce violin techniques like tone development along with performance elements. Read More

However, if you as a parent and/or adult student is "die hard" for a passionate and caring teacher on my lesser instruments I will study those instruments for you. Sometimes it is a gamble finding the right teacher for you and/or your child. Every person, young and adult deserves great love and support. We do not have to "do" anything to be worthy, or valued. If this resonates with you, please select me for a trial lesson. Read More

My teaching method will be largely based on what you want to accomplish as a musician. My students taking the classical route will become familiar with the Suzuki Method books. I like to supplement this with etudes, folk tunes, and something of personal interest to you (pop music, world music, video game, etc.) If you are more interested in a fiddle/bluegrass approach, I will start you on the O'Connor Method books for violin/viola. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm.
