Daniella G

Instruments: Violin

For me, the best part of teaching is helping students grow, and helping them realize their musical abilities and self-reliance. I feel that my role as a teacher is to present new information or challenges, and aid the student in learning how to address those challenges on their own. I find that this encourages the students to want to learn more and more to expand their own musical and technical literacy, and it makes them much more prepared for individual practice, ensemble playing, and future challenges where they have to rely on themselves. Instruments: Piano

I usually use the Faber, Beyer, or Czerny depend on the student's level. I'd add Hanon, bach 2,3 part invention, Sonatina album, and the list can go on. For Jazz, all I need is manuscript paper and a Jazz Real Book (I'd hand out some exercise notes). For advanced students, I want them to listen to music a lot. Listening to music is very critical, it is just as important as practicing the instrument. Read More

Alicia K

Instruments: Piano Trumpet French Horn

I am an experienced teacher, with many years of experience teaching young children of all ages and abilities. I also have a lot of experience working with adults, mostly beginnners. I have performed with several orchestras throughout my career, as well as in many piano recitals. I consider French Horn my primary performing instrument, and piano my secondary. I am very passionate about teaching, and I love watching my students learn to love it as well. Read More

Instruments: Flute

I am an experienced teacher of flute, having taught countless students in a wide age range, and from beginners to college to semi-professional. I enjoy starting students who are just beginning, and I have become known as the go-to teacher for adults of all levels. I love teaching, love music, and the combination is dynamite. I have an uncanny ability to home in on the students' difficulties and perceptions, and am very gratified to be able to help them play to the best of their ability. Read More

Audie S

Instruments: Violin Viola Electric Violin Fiddle Music

Hello! I'm Audie, a college student studying Music Education at Western Connecticut State University. I believe that music has the capacity to be an agent of change, both within and outside one's self. Learning a musical instrument can be a very satisfying opportunity to grow as a person and as a musician. My method of instruction is individualized to both a student's goals and their unique interests or aptitudes. Together, I work with a student to figure out what they intend to achieve with their music and how to get there, while building musical skills (such as ear training, rhythm, and phrasing) and lifelong skills (such as discipline, focus, and self esteem). I'm an energetic and encouraging instructor who loves to foster a love of music in my students and help them reach their goals. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in trombone performance from the Hartt School of Music, Theater, and Dance in 2018 and I am currently working on a masters degree at the Hartt School. I started touring with Tim Zimmerman and the King's Brass in May 2018 and have performed more than 100 concerts in over 25 states with them. Read More
