My methods are geared toward the individual. Oftentimes I might start with a methods book for a beginner, but supplement it with musical choices by the individual. In selecting these choices, I find ways to simplify the music so that the student is able to be able to play it. My method is also based on questions that the student might ask. So while we will have an approach that is organized and structured, I find that addressing seemingly unrelated musical questions, can actually be incorporated into the tasks at hand. Read More

My lessons are based on 3 different approaches. The first is the understanding of the essential rudiments for drumming. These help to instill all of the basics and the foundation of drumming. I train everyone with at least a basic skill set and understanding of classical violin and sight reading, then allow them to choose if they want to stick with classical violin or dive into ear training and creative writing. I started teaching while I was in college. There is this program at my university that allows music majors to teach private lessons and after school programs. Since I was interested in pursuing a career in music education, this was the perfect learning opportunity for me. This is where I really found that I love teaching private lessons. I love seeing my students grow, especially when they were having a hard time grasping a certain concept. Read More

The experience was so amazing I returned again a few years later. I recommend all my colleagues to encourage their music students to attend this amazing Music Camp. After returning from Interlochen I then changed teachers and began my studies with Mr. Alexander Reisman, a graduate from New England Conservatory. He taught me how to play with my heart and soul and to create beautiful music. My musicality was finally making sense and I had won a few local competitions as I continued to work with Mr. Read More
