My beginner students use the Essential Elements book. With that book, you can learn fundamentals in trumpet technique as well as counting. For all other students, I use the Herbert L. Clarke Technical Studies book and selections from the Arban's Conservatory Method. We cover a lot of etudes and techniques from the Arban's book. I approach each student differently because each person has different strengths, needs, and goals. No two lessons are ever taught the same way because each one is tailored to the individual. I am happy to work with students on specific repertoire for auditions or other events, and/or on general literature simply for the love of singing and the joy of growth. I ultimately hope after being exposed to a wide variety of methods and ideas, students will begin to create their own exercises to solve their own musical and technical challenges. I like to assign listenings of various musicians and gage what musical interests a student has. For example, if I notice a student has a particular affinity for cornet solos, I will begin to assign solos in that vein. Alternatively, if I notice a student struggling with an articulation necessary for French solo repertoire, I may encourage a student to listen and learn solos in that style. Read More

I am a composer, guitarist, singer and I was a member of Cadillac Dinossauros, a Brazilian rock band for 16 years.
