I grew up in a musical household and took lessons in viola, piano, handbells, and guitar before I convinced my parents that voice was my true musical passion. I took voice lessons throughout middle school, high school, and majored in music my first year at college. I may be new to one on one lessons but I'm not new to teaching kids. Music is my passion and I want to share what I know with kids and adults that want to learn. I'm a motivated instructor for Ogden High and work for both the marching band and indoor programs and I've been teaching for 5 years. I've always believed that learning comes 50% from the teacher, and 50% from the student. I do teach through lesson books but I've always found that they're better used as a guide rather than the focus of every lesson. I like to give the students the freedom to learn what they want to learn. I've always been willing to go the extra mile for my students, not just show up every week and continue from page 20 to see how far we get in the lesson book. Read More

Like I mentioned above, I believe in having fun. You should be having as much fun as you are working hard. I have had more fun in band than almost anything else in my life.
