Music has been a passion of mine from age 6. I got my start playing the piano with friends trying to figure out the music from Super Mario 64. Not a day has gone by since then that I haven't picked up an instrument of some kind. It's been a goal of mine to learn as many instruments as possible throughout my life and focus on the instruments I love. The voice is the most personal of instruments and that is what I love about it! Singing takes courage but it creates beautiful connections between people and cultures. In my teaching I seek to connect with students and share with them a love of music to last throughout their lifetime. I have been playing the clarinet for over 10 years now and the alto saxophone for 8 years. I have loved band for a long time and am currently studying to be a music teacher with a band emphasis at BYU. Teaching is something that brings me great joy and I love to watch as students progress and gain that same joy.
