Hey there, my name is Johnny and thank you for visiting my page! From a young age, I was always steeped in music from my parents. My fondest memories are listening to Acoustic Alchemy with my mother as we drove to elementary school, and my dad playing the Grateful Dead on our way to the mountains to ski. I became interested in playing guitar at 13 and got serious by 16. At the time I was a huge fan of rock, metal, blues, and contemporary metal however, I lacked a musical understanding that was holding my playing ability back from where I was suppose to be at. As a teacher and mentor, my priority is to help the student set and work towards their own goals. My teaching expertise is classical and musical theater, and I believe that students can be very successful branching out to different styles from this technical foundation. Music has been a passion of mine from age 6. I got my start playing the piano with friends trying to figure out the music from Super Mario 64. Not a day has gone by since then that I haven't picked up an instrument of some kind. My musical teaching goes back to high school, when I was the section leader in marching band on clarinet and the saxophone section leader in jazz band.
