Instruments: Violin
Some of my earliest memories are from learning how to read music. I've been involved in piano and violin for most of my life, beginning both early in elementary school. I studied privately for roughly ten years under various instructors while in school. My instruction consisted mostly of solo performance pieces, but I was fortunate to be able to enjoy many years in the Idaho Falls Youth Symphony as well as experience the Idaho All-State Orchestra and the Teton Chamber Orchestra. I believe that my principal role as a teacher is to inspire. If I fail to inspire the student, none of the concepts or exercises I teach will bear any fruit. And so I ensure that our lessons consist of lots of musical moments with instruction, feedback, follow up, and accountability built into the lesson time at moments when it will be motivating and not intimidating. I treat the lesson time as if it was a piece of music. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Students are able to select their own music and share their interests with me. Read More

All I want for my students is to reach their goals. Goals are important. Goals get you to your next goal. I want to share my passion and experiences of drumming with my students. I want to see my students grow. I want my students to share with me what music makes them want to grow. I have had the honor of performing with many amazing musicians, probably some of the best. My favorite thing in the world is seeing someone I teach fall in love with music. Because of this I find it most important that my students feel comfortable and not rushed or pushed to hard, I believe music comes best when studied at the students own pace. If there is something you want to learn or a goal you create then I will help you get there, if theres something that doesnt make sense and you want to recap it then thats what well do. Read More
Instruments: Trombone
I love music and I love teaching. I have been playing the trombone for over 10 years and been involved in music since a very young age. My love of music has given me the opportunity to perform in some of Utah's best music halls, such as Abravanel Hall and The Conference Center on Temple Square, with some of Utah's best performing groups, such as the Utah Symphony and Caleb Chapman's Soundhouse. Instruments: Trumpet Euphonium French Horn
I first began teaching in the summer of 2011 as a volunteer for a music camp and instantly fell in love with teaching. My first lesson teacher engrained in me the importance of sharing knowledge with colleagues and the younger generations. In addition to various private students over the years, I have taught at the Summer Brass Bash, Eastman Community School of Music, Discovering Brass, and North End Music and Performing Arts Center.
