Cyndi emphasizes note reading, rhythm, technic and theory at every lesson to prepare students to ultimately learn independently. Building confidence is key factor in music lessons. Each student is unique. Everyone has their own learning style, appreciation for music, coordination and goals. In the 1:1 lesson, the teacher has the responsibility to meet the students' unique learning style for the best results. Having conducted research in The Mozart Effect in graduate school, Cyndi firmly believes that music increases spacial ability which leads to better math skills and increases intelligence/apptitude in children. I begin all students on snare drum. This allows for the proper development of hand technique that is the base of percussion. I teach the original 26 rudiments along with the Breeze Easy method books for beginners, or students that do not read music. With the drum kit I encourage students to become familiar with as many styles of music they can. I use the blending of styles to help mold the student from a drummer to a musician, and help create an individual sound; Read More

My teaching experience started In my first job back in 2014, when I was a choir director and music teacher in percussion and music initiation In the Orchestral and Choir system for Children and Teenagers Fundamusical Simón Bolivar known as "El sistema" from Venezuela. Since them, I,ve been constantly teaching public and private lessons to children and teenagers of all ages. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I understand how hard it is to learn a new instrument. Music is just like a language - because it is one! My approach to learning music is, like learning a new language, immersion in the basics and linking concepts from playing to listening. Depending on what the student wants to learn, I am willing to take great lengths in making sure the student is enjoying the experience as well as learning the importance of music. Read More
Instruments: Piano
My teaching method begins with fundamentals. First, I teach about the piano itself. Second, I teach the notes. Third, I teach tones and steps. Fourth, I teach about major and minor scales. After I lay that foundation for the student I continue with theory and note identification. The student is ready to take off from there. I usually at this point let them select a song to play as well as I assign music. Read More
Instruments: Violin Fiddle
I use a variety of different methods and I tailor my curriculum to each individual student, offering you a personalized approach that is unique to your personality and learning style. I teach repertoire from the Suzuki Violin School and Barbara Barber's Solos for Young Violinists, I also like to incorporate other styles if the student is interested, such as fiddle and bluegrass, and even pop and Disney songs. I also use etude and scale books to help build and enhance certain techniques, such as Wolfhart Etudes, Barber Barber Scales for Young Violinist, Carl Flesch Scale System, etc., depending on the level and individual needs of the student. Instruments: Synthesizer Recorder
The best feeling for me as a teacher is to see students progress and love what they are doing. Every student has to be approached differently and taught in a different manner so they can get the most out of each lesson. My teaching style is all about "slowly but surely". Grasping electronic composing may be a bit hard at the beginning for anyone, however anyone is capable of doing it if they put their mind and effort into it. Read More
