I was concentrating on classical students but also taught folk, pop, rock, and jazz styles. My favorite part about teaching music is the look on a student's face when something finally clicks. The most important part of my music classes is that my students are having fun as they're learning. I want them to feel safe and comfortable, especially in making mistakes. Mistakes are a big part of the learning process, especially when you're working with something as tricky as your voice. I am very flexible when it comes to method books.  I try and work with any materials that may be required by the student's school.  For older students, I tend to use standard method books such as Rose, Klose, Polatscheck, Baerman and a few others based on the student's needs.  I also have many exercises that dont require books.  I often play in lessons or bring recordings to offer an example.
