While working with soloist, I focus on the strength of that singer. We will work on what they are good at and make it even better. I give each student the freedom to learn and prove to themselves just how wonderful they can be. I sit down with each student and parent, if the parent is coming with them, in the beginning and discuss with them the importance of practice and what it does to help with the learning process. I have always been a musician first and everything else second. I have found fulfillment in sharing music with others as a teacher, performer and music therapist. I graduated in May with my master's in voice from the Eastman School of Music. I hold bachelor's degrees and certifications in music education and music therapy. Currently, I am teaching all levels of voice, beginning to intermediate piano and violin and beginner guitar while I pursue a career in opera performance. Read More

Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
