I started teaching in 2006 in Bulgaria and since then have had teaching assistantships at Temple and Penn State Universities where I have worked with very diverse group of students with varying experience, backgrounds and age. At Temple I have worked with beginner kids at their Community Scholars program while at Penn State I worked with more advanced non majors and undergrad performance majors. I've been working with children long before I chose my major and started college. Singing was always a big part of my "play". I studied elementary education but even when I was in the general classroom I used music. I enjoyed making up songs to help different skills and ideas stick. I'm an acoustic and electric cellist multi-instrumentalist who is passionate about creativity and music as a means to joy! In 2019, I graduated from Temple University with a B.M. in Music Therapy/Cello where I studied both classical and jazz music. I've been playing cello for 13 years in orchestras, quartets, jazz combos, and my personal favorite, rock bands. I am very flexible in my approach.  I understand that there are many way to achieve the desired result.  I am always available to answer questions and welcome them.  I am not doctrinaire in my approach.  Each student is unique in their strengths and areas which need more attention and I strive to meet these needs on the individual level. I enjoy working with enthusiastic students, regardless of level. I have not yet started my teaching career but I am super excited to start gaining experience with all of you! I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music. I have much more experience performing and participating in summer flute masterclasses. I do hope to gain professional music performance experience by being in an orchestra, opera, or ballet, doing chamber music, and organizing small solo concerts. Read More
