My students will not only begin with the basic fundamentals of singing, breathing techniques, and music theory; but they will also learn the anatomy of the voice and how the body allows the sound to be produced. I also include a chat about life, music and music-business discipline. For the Double-Bass, i listen to the student’s needs and interests, and we work from there. Mostly Scales, Arpeggios, Intervales, Fingering, Instruments position, all of these with the bow, for better intonation. I discovered my love of teaching in college when I was required to teach voice lessons as an assignment for my vocal pedagogy class. I was amazed at how fulfilling it was to share my knowledge and love of singing with my students. Since then, I have had the opportunity to teach singers of varying ages, backgrounds, and experience levels. I have been steadily teaching private lessons since I was at Berklee, nearly 10 years ago. I almost always have taught lessons at my own studio where students come to me because that always seems to be the most conducive environment for learning and getting inspired. I've taught complete beginners at the toddler age, and even retired people in their 70s.
