Instruments: Saxophone Music
For beginning students, I typically start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements, along with my own personalized sound and technique exercises. After getting a grasp of the fundamentals - depending on the student's area of interest - I will either begin to introduce classical solo repertoire, jazz theory and transcription or concepts of a style of music the student is particularly interested in otherwise. Music composition is also one of my biggest passions, and I am always willing to introduce the wonderful world of writing your own music to my students, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Piano Keyboard
I have been studying piano since age 5 and teaching since age 13, my love of music and teaching it to others only increasing over the years. When I was about 11 years old, I quit piano and was not planning to return to music. But a very wonderful and inspiring music teacher invested in me, so I am extremely passionate about encouraging young musicians and helping them to love and develop their musical gifts. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Music
For beginning students who are children, I typically start by making the trumpet a game. Focusing on setting up a firm embouchure and obtaining a clear buzz on the mouthpiece sets up students for success! Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
Music has been a part of my life since before I can remember, and playing and teaching are the things that bring me the most joy in life. In high school, my love of music and jazz really began to take shape through taking private lessons and going out to see live music. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from William Paterson University, where I learn and study under some of the best musicians in New York City. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Trombone Euphonium Tuba
For the past 4 years, I have been at Seton Hall University studying to become proficient in Contemporary Trumpet and to possess solid skills in the collection of all other brass and woodwind instruments in order to teach music. I am fully qualified and most of my teaching experience comes from my students and teaching music within my church. While student teaching I taught all instrumental music classes for grades 8 9.I also collaborated on curriculum and exam development, met with students upon request, graded all written work and oral playing tests, and created lesson plans. Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
My goal is to give my students a strong music foundation such as developing great/productive practice habits, instrument care, exposing them to great artist and bands of different genres that will inspire and motivate them to become the best musicians they can be. I believe in patience is a virtue when it comes to a student's progression in music. I believe that understanding the foundation and fundamentals of learning an instrument is the first step to mastering the instrument. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
For nearly all of my students, I start with Arban's Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet so that I can truly understand the students level of understanding of music and also get a grasp of their playing technique. From there, I will branch out to find something that suits both the students ability as well as their interests. Regardless of their ability, though, I always duet with my students to make them feel less pressure during lessons. Read More
