I'm one of the best booking agent, music promoters and drummer in San Marcos, TX. Born and raised in McAllen TX, I began playing piano at the age of 8 and picked up drums at age 10. With strong support from my family, I began studying jazz when I was 13-years-old and continue to study the art form of jazz to this day. I've recorded on a couple of albums, gone on four national tours with three different bands and currently perform with two jazz trio's: The Rex Simmons Trio and Austin Kinney & Friends. Read More

I'm a very encouraging, dedicated, passionate, and motivated instructor who loves working with any students and sharing my love of music. I'm originally from South Korea, I can speak both English and Korean fluently. Currently, I'm a student of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Major. Performing and working with many people has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had a opportunity to play with Texas State Symphony Orchestra as a pianist. I started teaching at the age of 17 sharing my knowledge with children of my coworkers before I had formal education. Since then, I have had the opportunity to be a guitar instructor at Camp Lonehollow and have had private students during my time as a guitar pedigodgy student. A strong understanding of the fretboard and consistent quality practice is essential for any aspiring musician. I encourage my students to enter competitions and find chances to perform on their own. Typically, lesson plans are build around students goals. Some students may not have an interest in learning from a "traditional" approach from a book. Although this is highly recommended, I create different lesson plans for each individual student. I typically use and coach students from "Stick Control: for the snare drummer", "Syncopation for the modern drummer" and "The Blue Book" for drums. From time to time, I have also taught with "fakebook" charts for jazz drummers as well as play along tracks of various artists. Read More

From an early age I made the decision to dedicate myself to the arts. Teaching music has been a reward for me. A teacher is considered a role model. By being a role model, I hope to inspire my students to want to learn more. I want to provide my students with knowledge to reach their full potential. I want to show them the tools they need to succeed. I hope years after they have left my lessons they remember how curious and engaged they felt. Read More

My teaching style is geared mainly towards going over fundamentals while finding the students interest in music. I encourage my students to listen to as much music as possible, to explore and find what they really enjoy. Playing along to music,or learning songs the student enjoys is a great way to apply the fundamentals, and make them more enjoyable to master. Read More
