I began teaching at the Erie Playhouse Summer Youtheatre Camp on my summers home from college. The students were ages 5-16 and we taught them basic music theory, as well as numerous musical theater and jazz standards throughout the week. We focused on proper vocal technique and placement as well as theory. In New York City, I taught babies and toddlers for a company called MoonSoup. The children were ages 3 months - 6 years and we learned simple songs and melodies. Read More

The methods I use always dependents on that student. Everyone learns in different ways making it so important to cater to each students needs. I strive to creating a lesson plan specific for that student. I find by doing so that they are more passionate and progress much faster. I like to focus on learning technique, ear training, and theory through many styles, as well as explore different kinds of music. Read More

I was brought up with the Suzuki method. Therefore, I do use that as my main method to teach. However, since the start of my experience as a teacher, I have learned new methods of teaching. As a result, I am very open to different teaching methods. My preferred method is Suzuki. I also want to know that students are enjoying playing and practicing their instrument. To achieve this, I generally provide duets for students to play with me as well as another piece of music outside of the method we are using. Read More
Instruments: Drums
Beginner students learn essential basics of drumming, including how to hold the sticks, strike the drums, and position themselves behind the drum set. Students will also learn how to play a standard rock beat, basic music reading (which can be applied to any instrument), and the basic function of the drums in a musical situation. Intermediate drum lessons are geared towards a student's musical interests and are based on intermediate rudiments and snare and drum set reading. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
I believe teaching is one of the most important things I can do to 'give back' in music. I've had the great fortune of studying with some of the best trumpet teachers in the world. Being able to share my experiences, the challenges I've faced, and how I've addressed them with the guidance of those teachers and applying that to the specific needs of a student is incredibly gratifying. I first began teaching in High School and since my return to the instrument, have maintained a small studio practice with students of all ages and abilities. Read More
