My favorite aspect of teaching is sharing my love of the saxophone with my students, and passing on knowledge about the instrument that is not widely known or available. I begin with students by asking their goals. Once I have a clear understanding of what results the student is looking for, I can then find ways to help them in achieving these goals. For instance, I always work with the student on warm-ups at the beginning of each lesson. I have been teaching piano and voice students for the past 7 years and have really come to enjoy the experience more and more. Encouring regular practice is definitely key, as well as giving the students a chance to work on pieces they are interested in.
