Over the past ten years, I have had the privilege of working with students of all ages, and have been on faculty at the Manhattan School of Music Summer Program, the Larchmont Music Academy, All-Island Music, and an adjunct teaching instructor New York University’s Steinhardt School of Music. I'm a passionate instructor specializing in 5th-12th grade band education as well as retired adult students. My focus during my collegiate and graduate education has been jazz saxophone, but my early passion for clarinet and flute as well as classical music has carried on throughout my teaching career. In 2019, Hidden Treasure ©, in the form of a comedy play, toured in twelve cities in the North of Canada, reaching the most isolated communities of the country. In May 2019, I defended what became the first comprehensive dissertation in English about the scarcely-known in Western countries composer, Arno Babadjanian. Throughout the research process, we faced numerous challenges, the most important being a complete lacuna of the previously written material about the composer available in English. Read More

I have played the piano since childhood and specialize in the classical repertoire, as I believe it offers the most comprehensive method of attaining instrumental mastery. However, I will not hesitate to use any material that interests a student, in any genre, provided sheet music is available. I can play jazz and improvise fluently and have also played in blues bands, but prefer to devote myself to classical music. I play the guitar at an advanced level and for the last seven years have written about a great variety of Western music for Fanfare Magazine, contributing full length interviews, often with famous musicians, and CD and DVD reviews.
