I can still remember the joy I felt when I first started playing drums and my passion is helping people experience that joy. In my musical career, spanning 38 years, I have performed with varied groups including: drumset with The Road Runners Blues Band, Catfish and Paul Plumeri Blues Band; West African, Middle Eastern and Afro-Cuban percussion with Groove Merchant Drum Dance Ensemble; bodhran and bones with traditional Celtic bands Kintail, Cwn Annwn and Browne Jenkyn; and snare drum with The First Highland Watch of Pennsylvania and Rev War Re-enactors First NJ Volunteers. My teaching experience dates back to high school years, as I began teaching private lessons outside of school for ages 8-14 7 years ago. Junior year of high school I transitioned to giving group lessons for the music students in my school district. I have been consistently teaching students for the last four years, by being invited to do workshops for students at Monmouth University, Brookdale Community College, and Long Branch High School. Teaching is my passion and calling, i can't think of doing anything else! In 2013 I graduated from Fairfield University with a triple major in English, Gender Studies, and Violin Performance. While studying at University I started my band with my sister, Verdigrls. We have gone on to put out an EP, play all over the NY metropolitan area as well as have our music featured in movies and television. I attended the last two years of high school at Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, where I studied with David Holland, and moved on to do my undergraduate degree at Eastman School of Music under the tutelage of Carol Rodland.
