I have been teaching for close to 30 years and enjoy the challenge of working with students of all ages, levels, strengths, and styles. I have taught violin, music theory, chamber music, and repertoire throughout my career. I divided my lesson in four parts: Make find your own sound, Technique, HarmonyEar Training, Repertoire. If you are beginner student is a different intensity and difficulty than for a intermediate or advance student, but the approach is the same. I don't care about the lesson in itself, but I care that the student create his/her own musical path. I put a lot of passion in my teaching and I work for the student outside the lesson as well; making specific backing track and exercise for the specific student or helping him/her out for get in a band or to auditioning for music schools. While in New York, I am also participating as a freelancing teacher musician. During the summer months, I have been seen performing at the St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Windermere, FL. Here, I have played in a variety of settings, including frequent performances in traditional worship, a Summer pops orchestra series, and three musicals. I started taking piano lessons at the age of 5. As a I continued to take piano lessons, I eventually in middle school began to study with a professor from Julliard until entering the university. I graduated from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University with a Bachelors of Music degree in piano performance. However, I started teaching right away and have enjoyed teaching for over 40 years. For most of my students, I use Artistry in Strings, I Can Read Music, Introducing the Positions, Wolfhart, and more in addition to Suzuki. I began teaching in my college days, when I would help friends learn different instruments. My experience includes working at School of Rock Red Bank, where I taught guitar, drums and bass. I encourage my students to develop their own musical tastes and to learn music as a language.
