Overview:
Hello. I  am a musician. My main instrument is percussion, but I don't like to think of it in such a narrow scope, as my passion derives from the music rather than the instrument. I have recently graduate from Temple University's Boyer College of Music, and have been actively performing and teaching in the Philadelphia area. I have performed in many major cities in the US (including New York, Boston, Washington D.C., Baltimore, and more), as well as across Europe. My main focus areas are classical, jazz, rock, contemporary classical, and theatre. I look forward to teaching you!
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching drums and percussion since my junior year of high school, and have taken on some piano students in college. I've taken on students as young as elementary age as well as people from an older crowd. Regardless of the age, I've seen music change their lives for the better. Admittedly, some of my students start out somewhat apathetic, but have grown into enthusiastic, well rounded people through learning to play music. That is what I believe to be the most rewarding part of teaching.
METHODS USED
My teaching style involves a comprehensive approach to percussion that is inclusive of all styles of music. I emphasize the importance of obtaining a solidity in the fundamentals and showing the student how it will get them to where they wnat to be. I also aim to make the student doesn't just learn a few beats or scales and then call it day. I encourage the student to seek an understanding of the music, and to know why they are playing what they are playing. In my experience, this method has been proven to help the student perform music in the most compelling way possible, keeping every fiber of artistic ingenuity intact. Above all, I want to teach the student to be passionate about music, for that is the driving force the mastery of anything.
LESSON STYLE
I aim to make the student not feel judged. This creates an optimal learning experience, for I firmly believe that in order for true progress to be obtained, the student will must not be afraid to make mistakes. The correction of the mistake is the moment where the student learns exactly how something should be played, since there is something to compare it to. It is important that a student go through a stage of experimentation in order to intuitively arrive at an understanding of a concept.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
