Instruments: Flute Music

For beginning students who are children, I usually start with how to make a sound on the flute by practicing only the headjoint for the first week to help them develop the muscles in the lips and help to keep the aperture small. Once they feel confident with the headjoint, I would then teach them how to hold the flute properly and have a correct posture when playing. I began teaching in my early college years dating back to 2010. I have since taught students ranging in all ages from 6 to adult. Not only have I had many double bass students, as that is my primary instrument, but I have also taught trombone, beginning violin, and music theory as well. I highly encourage my students to practice regularly, as consistency is the key to developing any new skill. I will teach with some of the Agostini's books for every level, and some books that I used in school. We will learn, develop rudiments, grooves, concepts ideas, independance together and make it fun.
