I've been a musician for almost longer than I can remember and teaching has been the greatest part of my musical journey so far! I've been teaching for 4 years privately and have been teaching through Guitar Center for 1 year as well as teaching through other private lesson applications. I've seen that students grow faster in places that they're more passionately driven, so I want to provide a space for any student to learn or take steps to learning what they want to on their instrument, while also providing structure and giving other feedback along the way. My teaching experience begins during the second year of my undergrad at UCF. I began teaching privately students who ranged in ages from 4 to 65. Encouraging regular practice and incorporating parent involvement are the best ways I feel to keep a younger student on track. As well as tailoring a plan that fits each students needs. Encorporating a mixture of genres and allowing the student to feel that they can play the music they are interested in will help to fuel a passion for music in the student. Read More

For younger students I like the Alfreds method books . I also use the Piano Adventures books as well as Hal Leonard for adults. I like to combine what the student is looking for musically and build upon that while supplementing the method book. For younger students I tried to engage them by making the lesson fun. If an adult is interested in popular music I supplement the lesson with a method book that is geared toward popular music. Read More

First, it is important to have the students feel that you care and want to open their talents. Next, doing exercises together to learn diaphragm breathing and see the joy as they realize they can make a lovely vocal sound. Watching them Find their true voice through an open throat is almost like magic. Discovering how the cheeks and bones move and open producing a radiant sound adds much more to learning to sing. Hello, I am a lifelong student and instructor of the Drum Set. I began studying intensely at the age of seven and til this day, still I seek out even more learning. The learning process is infinite. You have never PEAKED,EVER. The instrument and the music, will never leave me. One thing to keep in mind, especially for younger students, is to always remember " do it for you !" As for older more mature student that have careers in other fields, you already usually know that the desire to learn is for you, yourself, and no other reason. Read More
