My teaching started in my undergrad, about 5 years ago when I was required to take a Vocal Pedagogy class as part of my major. From there I fell in love with teaching. I was able to expand on my love as a substitute teacher at Rabun Gap Academy in Rabun Gap Georgia in 2012. There I taught five girls ranging from 8-15. I began teaching during the Summer in high school, mostly for kids I babysat. However, when my sister booked the national tour of The Sound of Music, my clientele expanded to include mostly Broadway kids. In the past couple years, my students have been seen on Broadway/tour in shows such as A Bronx Tale, School of Rock, and Anastasia. Now that I have relocated from NYC back to CT (where I grew up) I am excited to be teaching back where I started! Read More

I want the lessons to be a fun and exciting process. I love working with ages 11-85 and try to accommodate and feel how their singing becomes more and more joyful. Singing scales, breathing at times against a wall, moving arms and singing with joy, all help students enjoy and create the sound and rhythms they are comfortable with. When I moved back to Long Island after graduation, I began teaching the same age levels. I will always listen to what students want to learn and play but at the same time will introduce them to music they aren’t familiar with. To be a great musician you have to be well rounded in different styles of music. For my older students I always try and find out what they would like to focus on specifically. I usually begin with what they feel their musical strengths and weaknesses are. From there we build up their strengths and create newer strengths. I create my own personal lesson plans to cater to each individual student.
