I have performed extensively throughout Europe and the U.S., and in every major concert hall in NYC including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, St. John the Divine and many other landmark locations. First, it is important to have the students feel that you care and want to open their talents. Next, doing exercises together to learn diaphragm breathing and see the joy as they realize they can make a lovely vocal sound. Watching them find their true voice through an open throat is almost like magic. Discovering how the cheeks and bones move and open producing a radiant sound adds much more to learning to sing. Adult students can opt to go to the next book in the series (Book II and III of the 'modern' piano course). For String students I am comfortable in the 'Essential Elements' series, 'String Builder' series and 'All for Strings' methods as an excellent base with which to start. All students come with different strengths and weaknesses so I decided what needs to be done after hearing them. Basic technique is very important to consistently sing in any style. A singer must have stable, and consistent breathing as well as proper vocal balance. I have a substantial number of excursuses to begin training these aspects with a singer at any level. I believe that all students are able to carry their dreams out to the fullest as long as they put a little hard work and dedication.
