I use a variety of methods, custom-fit for each student individually. I teach Classical and church piano, along with sightreading, ear training, performance techniques, music theory, and other techniques specially designed to give my students the most well-rounded learning experience possible. I tend to prefer Piano Adventures for younger students and teens, and incorporate use of the corresponding app whenever possible. We gradually increase the tempo over the next several weeks. Pieces like that will be rehearsed at the end of each lesson after working through a few passages in Alfreds book. At the beginning, I ask my adults what music theyre interested in learning. I like to gear my warmup exercises and cool down exercises towards that style and I always put aside a few minutes at the end to work on whatever music they desire. Read More
