Instruments: Trumpet
As stated in my experience explanation I use the piano as a teaching tool. however, I do not require that students know how to play the piano at all as I will only be using it for extremely simple demonstrations. I strongly believe in the vocal chords being directly related to the training of a musicians ear and how they understand playing their instrument and, therefore I teach a small bit of basic singing skills. Instruments: Drums
I am a self-taught drummer who has honed my skills through in-person lessons, self-discovery, and online resources like Drumeo. Over the past three years, I have taught a variety of styles to students, from those eager to master rock songs to drummers currently performing in various settings. My teaching philosophy encourages students to cultivate their unique abilities through regular practice. For younger learners, I incorporate engaging games that reinforce lesson material, while for older students, I introduce concepts like "Film Study," where they analyze the playing of drummers who inspire them. Instruments: Guitar
I set goals for all my students and encourage them to find their own "voice" on the instrument and use their inspirations to develop their own unique style. It is important that a student is working on something they enjoy so they stay motivated and encouraged to practice. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I have three different sets of books for new students that are children; so if you have more than one starting lessons, you can hear different songs. I typically use Piano Adventures, Bastien, or Alfred, although Piano Adventures is my favorite. I suggest the lesson book, theory book and technique books be usedsimultaneously to give the student the most well-rounded lesson. For adults or even teenagers, I like to learn about what interests them musically and work towards that style or song. Read More
Instruments: Voice
Like I said before, it is all about finding the true and mostefficient voice. Every voice and different, unique, and beautiful. Ihelp train the voice to function properly and effectively in aclassical style. You can take classical training and use it in anysinging medium. My favorite thing in the world is when a student hasan "Ah ha" moment, where we, together have figured out something thatworks and changes the voice's freedom for the better. Read More
Instruments: Voice Music
For beginning students under the age of 12, I typically like to start with Singing Lessons for Little Singers and New Singing Games for Young Singers: Ten Original Singing Games by Donna Rhodenizer. Once they have progressed and picked up the fundamentals from these lessons I like to move on to Hal Leonard's Giant Book of Children's Vocal Solos. For ages 14 and up I like to focus on songs/styles my students are interested in. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I have been teaching piano on and off since 1982. I worked with children between the age 6 and 18 years but enjoy teaching students of all ages. My students are also encouraged to have recitals twice a year. I organize activities such as concert, performance, and exams. I use my pedagogical skills to achieve the best education for students in my classes. Each lesson is customized to meet the individual needs and goals. Read More
