I started to teach privately in June 2012, teaching both voice and early piano. I teach students out of their homes, or a space of their choice. I have mostly worked out of their local schools or churches. I encourage and emphasize regular practice on a consistent schedule. I encourage hard work, but also fun when practicing, and during lessons to help maintain a student's growth and interest. For beginning students I typically start with sound development and articulation for the brass instruments starting with armband studies and schlosburg studies. For the intermediate students I work on Clark studies and intersperse getchel etudes for artistic development. Advanced students work on major recital works for brass that help their development for performance.
